Buncheong Ware Case Study
This case compares two front-view images of the same Buncheong ware object. The comparison examines how lighting conditions affect the visibility of surface texture, specular highlights, colour information, and ceramic materiality.
Control Condition
Direct bilateral softbox lighting was used as the baseline condition. This image provides a clear front-view record, but strong specular highlights appear on the ceramic surface.
Variable Condition
The lighting condition was adjusted using ceiling bounce lighting and a reflector. This condition reduces strong highlights and makes surface information more stable.

Interpretation
The comparison demonstrates that the difference between the two images is not merely a matter of visual preference or image quality.
